Cookie Beck Memorial Pavilion
Celebrating the life and service of Cookie Beck,
our YMCA has been blessed with the
Cookie Beck Memorial Pavilion-Cookie’s Corner!
As a long-time supporter of the Waynesboro Area YMCA,
Cookie served on the board for many years
and was a recipient of the Building Strong Kids Award.
On December 23, 2019 family and friends held a private dedication.
“We are excited that Cookie’s Corner will join in the collection of pavilions in the
Waynesboro area.
It will provide shade on a sunny day, protection from the rain,
a place to sit down for a meal or just a group conversation.
Whatever brings you to Cookie’s Corner, we hope that you will create your own memories and
it will be a place to make memories for generations to come!”
During October, Cookie’s Corner has been an extra special blessing to our community.
In nice weather, it’s provided an outdoor space for our after-school kids.
In rainy weather is given Summitview Elementary students a place for gym class.
It’s housed minions for movie night and pumpkins for fall parties,
WAMS students came early in the morning for volleyball and
Pink party dancers came to support breast cancer awareness!
We are so thankful for The Cookie Beck Memorial Pavilion and
look forward to more adventures and memories!
